The Best of You Social Media Campaign

A social movement initiated by Julie’s, The Best of You empowers the community to share authentic stories of people from all walks of life.

Idea Ink was approached to illustrate a social media campaign on social capital - which highlights the networks, relationships, and social connections that individuals and communities have.

The campaign aims to accentuate the importance of social capital in success and how it manifests in everyday scenarios. To reimagine a Singapore with a strengthened communal (Kampung) spirit, where everyone helps each other in capitalising existing social capital assets.

Campaign's Performance

Since its launch, our campaign has been notably successful in driving engagement. From March 13 to April 10, it generated a remarkable 574% increase in likes compared to the result in the previous month!

The third series of the campaign, titled "Not All Networks Are Equal," has proven to be exceptionally outstanding. It garnered over 100 likes, and achieved an engagement rate 60% higher than the rest.

A strong visual metaphor was used in the cover, which effectively conveyed the concept of networking inequality. The compelling narrative made the topic accessible, and the minimal yet sophisticated visual elements enhanced the overall appeal and engagement of the post.

Our Creative Process

When it comes to building awareness on social media, the challenge lies in tailoring your content to resonate with interests, needs, and preferences of your target audience.

Here’s how we achieve it:

(1) Visual Storytelling

We carefully extracted data and key information from the brief and craft suitable illustrations, with emphasis on accessibility to audience. Specific to this campaign, we ensured to communicate clearly to guide viewers through the social media series.

(2) Visual Elements

Susie, the girl in half-up bun, was our main visual anchor. She appeared in every posts throughout the different subjects. To display contrast, we chose a black and white pencil texture style for its ability to convey a sense of artistic craftsmanship and evoke a nostalgic charm. To compliment this, the accent colour highlighted key elements, creating a visually appealing and engaging social media aesthetic.

(3) Metaphors and Data Visualisation

Presenting statistical data on social issues was not an easy task. As visual communicators, we ensured that data was presented in the most digestible way for viewers to process. This was where the art of data visualisation took the lead! Using powerful visual metaphors and clear statistical representations, we turned complicated subjects into easily understandable insights for our audience.
